PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION SCIENCE STREAM


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

B.Sc. Ist Semester
Securing minimum 45% in aggregate in 10+2 (Science)  or equivalent Examinations recognized by Manipur University.

* Relaxation of marks:

   Certain sections of students belonging to ST, SC, OBC, Physically Challenged or Sports persons of    eminence, National/International reputed players may be exempted from minimum cut-off marks,    provided    certificate of excellence is    produced.


SELECTION PROCEDURE           

         

B.Sc. FIRST  SEMESTER

Merit list for admission to Science streams shall be prepared subject combination-wise on the basis of the total marks obtained in (i) and (ii) stated below:
(i)   Marks obtained in Admission Test, and
(ii)  Marks obtained in the qualifying 10+2 examination in the subject (s) appeared in the Admission Test.



N.B:(i) For admission to Geology, Statistics and Economics Honours, candidates who offered these subjects in 10+2 Examination will be given the first preference.
        (ii) the procedure of admission may be changed from time to time if the admission committee feel to be fit.

 ADMISSION TEST

B.Sc. FIRST  SEMESTER

a)   The number of subject(s) to be tested depend on the subject combination he/she desire to offer [For details, refer to Table No.1 of the Prospectus ]
b)   Each subject will carry 25 marks
c)   Duration of the written test shall be 30 minutes for each subject. [For example, if a student has to be tested in 3 subjects, he/she shall be given 90 minutes]
d)   All questions shall be objective type each carrying 1 mark.


 

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION FOR ARTS

B.A. FIRST  SEMESTER

 Securing minimum 40% in aggregate in 10+2 (Science)  or equivalent Examinations recognized by Manipur University.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

B.A. FIRST  SEMESTER

  Merit list for admission to Arts streams shall be made subject combination-wise on the basis of the total marks obtained in (i) and (ii) stated below:
(i)    Marks obtained in Admission Test and
(ii)   50% of the aggregate of marks obtained in the 10+2 or qualifying examination.
[Note: For those students who are from Science stream, 50% of the aggregate mark will be calculated after deducting 5% marks from the aggregate ]

ADMISSION TEST

B.A. FIRST  SEMESTER

   a) Admission test for all subject combinations will be on ‘General English’ and ‘Subject Aptitude’.
b)   The total marks shall be 50.
c)   Duration of the written test shall be 60 minutes 
d)   The type of questions shall be essay and short answer type.

 

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES


  1. Admission to the Examination Hall will be only by Admit Card issued by the College Authority.
  2. The time and date of Written Test can be seen from the College Notice Board.
  3. The merit list can be seen from the College Notice Board.
  4. Reservation of seat for SC/ST/OBC/Disabled persons/Physically challenged/Sports Personnel/Son or Daughters of Ex-serviceman etc. shall be as per the General Admission Policy for undergraduate colleges in Manipur issued b the Government of Manipur.
  5. Those candidates who are selected in the Admission Test shall be admitted only after Counseling.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  1. All admissions shall be provisional.
  2. Candidates are required to produce the original mark-sheets at the time of interview/Counseling session, failing which they shall not be considered for admission.
  3. If any error/omission in the processing/verification of certificates/documents of a candidate is detected after admission to a course, the college has the right to cancel such admission at any stage at which the error is discovered.
  4. No. candidates shall be allowed to sit for the Written Test unless he/she has fulfilled all the eligibility requirements.
  5. Candidates who failed to report for admission at the stipulated time shall be forfeited of their seats and the same seats shall be offered to other candidates next in order of Merit. No further correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
  6. Incomplete application forms will be rejected.
  7. The procurement of admission form does not guarantee admission.
  8. Documents once submitted along with the application form shall not be returned.
  9. Candidates who passed the qualifying examination from other Board/Council other than the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur shall have to submit the MIGRATION CERTIFICATE at the time of admission or within one month from the date of admission.

DOCUMENTS TO BE ENCLOSED

  1. One attested copy of Mark sheet of HSLC Exam.
  2. One attested copy of Provisional Certificate of last qualifying examination recognized by Manipur University.
  3. One attested copy of Mark Sheet of last qualifying examination recognized by Manipur University.
  4. One attested copy of Admit Card/Provisional Certificate of HSLC Examination for Age Proof.
  5. Three recent passport size photographs of which one is to be attested by a gazetted officer and pasted on the admission form. One unattested copy should be attached to the form with a pin and other copy be pasted to the Admit Card.
  6. One attested copy of SC/ST/OBC/Disabled persons/Physically challenged/Sports Personnel/Son or daughter of Ex-serviceman, etc. Certificates issued by the competent authority (if reservation is claimed for that particular category).
  7. One attested copy of Blood group Certificate.
DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED/SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION ONLY
*    Original Income Certificate issued by competent authority for candidates belonging to low income        group should be submitted at the time of admission.
*    Original documents should be produced at the time of Counselling Session.
